1. Overview and scope

This policy explains how Genie Home, owned by the Brydens Group, delivers orders placed online. By placing an order, you agree to these terms alongside our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.

  • Delivery area: we deliver islandwide throughout Trinidad.
  • Collection: you may instead collect your order free of charge from our Couva warehouse between 9am and 1pm.
  • Who delivers: large appliances (refrigerators, freezers, stoves, washers) are delivered by A.S. Bryden and Sons (Trinidad) Limited own staff. Small appliances (microwaves, pressure cookers, fans) and parts may be delivered by an approved third-party courier (see Section 6).
  • Working days: Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Trinidad. All times in this policy are Trinidad and Tobago time (AST).

2. Delivery timeframes

Orders confirmed before 12:00 noon on a working day are delivered the next working day; orders confirmed after 12:00 noon are delivered the following working day.

Order confirmedDeliveredExample
Before 12:00 noon, working dayNext working dayTuesday 10:00 am → Wednesday
After 12:00 noon, working dayFollowing working dayTuesday 2:00 pm → Thursday
Weekend or public holidayTreated as received at the start of the next working day, then the rule above appliesSaturday → Tuesday
  • An order is “confirmed” once payment is received and the order is accepted. Card payments that require verification are confirmed when verification completes.
  • Timeframes depend on the item being in stock. Items marked “Coming Soon” or on back-order will be delivered once available, and we will contact you with a date.
  • Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, flooding, road closures, public emergencies or other events outside our control may cause delays. We will contact you as soon as possible if your delivery is affected.
  • Deliveries take place between [8:00 am and 6:00pm]. We cannot guarantee a specific time slot, but will contact you with an estimated window on the day.

3. Delivery charges and your details

Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay, and are non-refundable once the delivery has been attempted or completed.

  • Charges: TTD $40 for small appliances and parts; approximately TTD $500 for large appliances (refrigerators, freezers, stoves and washers).
  • Your details: you must give a complete, accurate delivery address and a phone number that will be answered on the delivery day. We are not responsible for delays or failed deliveries caused by incorrect or incomplete details.
  • Changes: to change the delivery address or date, contact us before 12:00 noon on the working day before delivery. Changes may move your delivery date and may carry an extra charge.
  • Someone must be present: an adult aged 18 or over must be at the address to receive, inspect and sign for the delivery. Whoever signs is treated as authorised by you to accept it.

4. Access and entranceways

We do not dismantle appliances, or remove their doors, handles or other parts, to fit them through entranceways. Please measure before you order.

  • Measure first: check the product’s height, width and depth against every doorway, hallway, staircase, gate and turn along the route to where it will stand. Allow extra room for handling, and for doors and handles that stick out. Product dimensions are listed on each product page.
  • Clear access: make sure there is safe, clear access from the street to the room, including parking close to the entrance, and that the space is ready for the appliance.
  • What our team will not do: remove doors, door frames, windows, railings or fixtures; hoist items over balconies or through windows; or carry items up or down stairs or routes our team judges unsafe.
  • If it won’t fit: our team may leave the item at the nearest safe, accessible point (such as the ground floor or the entrance) with your agreement, or return it to our warehouse. If returned, a redelivery charge applies, and a change-of-mind return is handled under our Refund Policy, including its restocking fee.
  • We are not responsible for damage to your property caused by insufficient access, or for an item that does not fit the space you have prepared for it.

5. Installation

Delivery covers bringing your order into the property only; installation, connection and setup are your responsibility.

  • Our delivery team and couriers will not connect appliances to electricity, gas or water, remove old appliances, unpack and dispose of packaging [confirm], or level, mount or build in an appliance.
  • Gas stoves and plumbed-in appliances such as washers should be connected by a qualified technician. Follow the installation steps in the product manual, available on our Manuals page.
  • Refrigerators and freezers should stand upright for the time the manual specifies before being switched on.
  • Faults or damage caused by incorrect installation are not covered by the A.S. Bryden and Sons (Trinidad) Limited’s warranty.

6. Third-party courier deliveries

Small appliances and parts may be delivered by an approved third-party courier acting on our behalf; A.S. Bryden and Sons (Trinidad) Limited remains your point of contact for the order.

  • Sharing your details: to complete the delivery, we share your name, delivery address, phone number and order details with the courier. They may use these only to deliver your order, as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • Courier contact: the courier may contact you directly by phone or message to arrange or confirm delivery, and may send tracking information.
  • Courier terms: the courier’s own delivery procedures may apply, such as delivery windows, proof of delivery (signature, photo or one-time code) and the number of delivery attempts. Where these differ from this policy, this policy sets out your rights with A.S. Bryden and Sons (Trinidad) Limited.
  • Timeframes: the cut-off rule in Section 2 applies. Courier schedules and service areas may add time in some locations, and we will tell you if they do.
  • Unattended deliveries: the courier will not leave a parcel unattended unless you authorise it. If you do, risk passes to you once the parcel is left at the agreed place.
  • Problems with a courier delivery: report missing, late or damaged parcels to A.S. Bryden and Sons (Trinidad) Limited, not the courier, using the timeframes in Section 7. We will deal with the courier on your behalf.
  • Courier conduct: the courier is an independent contractor and not an employee of A.S. Bryden and Sons (Trinidad) Limited. Please report any concern about a courier’s conduct to us.

7. Inspection, damage and missing items

Inspect your order when it arrives: note visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing, and report hidden damage within 48 hours with clear photographs.

  • Visible damage: check the packaging and the item in front of the delivery team or courier. Note any dents, scratches or damaged packaging on the receipt. You may refuse a visibly damaged item.
  • Concealed damage: damage found after unpacking must be reported within 48 hours of delivery, with clear photographs of the item and its packaging.
  • Missing or wrong items: report these within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Non-delivery: if a courier shows your order as delivered but you have not received it, tell us within 48 hours.
  • Keep all original packaging until any claim is resolved. We will repair, replace or refund damaged or missing items in line with our Refund Policy.

8. Failed deliveries, risk and liability

If we cannot complete a delivery because no one is available or access is not possible, we will contact you to rebook, and a redelivery charge may apply.

  • Failed delivery: if no one is present, or the delivery cannot be completed for reasons within your control, the item returns to our warehouse. A redelivery charge applies. Couriers may make 2 attempts before returning a parcel to us.
  • Uncollected orders: if we cannot reach you to rebook within 14 days, we may cancel the order and refund you, less delivery charges and any restocking fee under our Refund Policy.
  • Risk: risk of loss or damage passes to you when the item is delivered and signed for, left at an authorised place, or collected from our warehouse. Ownership passes to you once we receive payment in full.
  • Liability: we are not liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Sale of Goods Act and the Consumer Protection and Safety Act of Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Changes: we may update this policy from time to time. The version on our website when you place your order applies.
  • Governing law: this policy is governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
